At CDS, next-generation performance meets modernized HWIL testing with Nessie2: 1024×1024 infrared scenes at up to 1000 Hz, fiber-ready for advanced infrared sensor testing.
CDS’s Nessie2 platform delivers variable frame rates from any desired setting—50 Hz to 1000 Hz—at full 1024×1024 resolution, giving HWIL and hypersonic test teams precise timing control within a single system.
We’ve demonstrated clean FrameSync transitions (50 → 100 → 400 → 600 → 800 → 1000 Hz) while maintaining timing integrity, enabling realistic scene dynamics and faster test iteration.
Under the hood: Our 2nd-generation Close Support Electronics (CSE) is a major leap forward over Gen‑1, offering 2× performance in a package 4× smaller.
Key highlights:
– Semi-custom FPGA with 40G fiber interface
– Expansion slot that supports 8x GTH transceivers for customer scene-generator inputs (e.g., DisplayPort or specialized fiber boards)
– Four multi-GHz serial DAC boards (16 analog outputs each) → 64 analog outputs total
– 16-bit resolution across the entire system chain
– Reserved JESD204 synchronization slot for future multi-CSE sync (higher frame rates on one array or driving multiple arrays)
The Nessie2 CSE is engineered for the next era of sensor testing with infrared scene projection—flexible, fast, and fiber-ready.
CDS continues to push the boundaries of scene projection and HWIL testing with performance and capability unmatched anywhere else.
